For Safe Travel Insure Your Trip
Below is a list of the best companies, I’ve found, for insuring your vacation. Make sure you use a company that you can access easily & who covers your trip, medical emergencies & evacuation plans….for peace of mind, it’s just good to be prepared.
World Nomads.com- They are available to you from anywhere in the world, 24/7. They know how to travel and all the exciting activities you want to do, so they cover you on that end. They cover medical, evacuations & even your gear. As if that’s not enough, my favorite thing about them is they show you how to travel responsibly, minimizing your footprint. They even donate to different communities to help take care of people throughout the world. That’s insurance I don’t mind paying for!
InsureMyTrip.com – The process takes less than 10 minutes and you can book everyone on the trip together. Their service asks a few key questions and delivers several options for you to choose from and tailor to your needs. The great thing with them, also is they cover travelers over 70 years old as well. They literally “cover” all the bases!
****SPECIAL TIP: If, by chance, your luggage gets damaged, take a picture of it for the claim. Also, if your luggage is delayed or lost, make sure you have receipts for the items that had to be replaced and an inventory of what was in your bag. Some insurance policies require a receipt for the initial item you lost, so if you have, keep it aside for filing the claim.

What Do Things Cost When I Get There?
Just as an aside, if I’ve never traveled to an area, I do still try to calculate what my expenses will be when I arrive. What does a cup of coffee cost? How about a taxi? I like to check here first just to get an idea, when planning my budget. I can’t vouch for the site, because there is no contact information & I have tried to find a way to contact them. However, in my experience & for planning purposes, it has been pretty accurate. If you don’t feel comfortable using it, just Google “food costs in…(the name of the country or city you are visiting) ” and a list of options will come up.
