About Us

On My Way To Atlanta, Ga

To learn about us, you’ll first want to know…….I have a secret…….

There are rules. We all have them. We all must follow them. I have One. One main rule that guides and defines my life. I’ve shared it with my friends, my family, my children, my staff. And I’ll share it with you here. It incorporates Rose Tremain’s quote.

The secret?

Jeannine’s # 1 Rule for A Life Well Lived:

EVERYTHING you want to do, be, have & see…….Do It Now! Because you only have one shot at this and “Life is not a dress rehearsal!”

Hi, my name is Jeannine. Thank you for joining me here on this journey. My happily ever after began when I was born in a small rural town in southern New Jersey. Growing up across the street from a peach orchard offers ample opportunities to wile away the hours, daydreaming of far-off lands and ancient cultures. Feeding into this never-ending lust for travel were two adventurers I call Mom & Dad. My parents had a wanderlust that must have root in our genes. At an early age, they tossed myself & my siblings (not literally) on a plane set for a time zone we never knew existed. Our father was transferred with his job to Kwajalein in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. We eagerly followed in tow to our new found paradise on this, my first, of many adventures to distant lands of unique customs.

All manner of future travel was now measured by that first excursion. From those early days, my love of planes, trains, boats, mountains and foreign shores, have become my purpose in life. How to get to them, what to do when I’m there & what exotic people I’ll meet when I arrive. I suppose that passion was also fueled by the royal welcome we received when our sandaled toes hit the tarmac in Hawaii (on our way to Kwaj). At the base of the steps, descending from the plane, awaited what appeared to be an Hawaiian Princess. The balmy south pacific breeze enveloped us with fragrant tones of hibiscus, as I hesitantly approached her. Almost as if in a dream, I gazed up at her elegant beauty. Gently bending down, she placed a lei of flowers around my neck, whispering softly “Aloha”. I had arrived. And, my life would never be the same. My life…….and anyone who entered my life thereafter.

I’ve since raised my own children to embrace the journey. Make the plans. See the places. Meet the people…….your life will forever be richer. Along the way, we pick up postcards in remembrance of a time past.

Starting this blog is three-fold. To share my journeys, make yours easier & hopefully more exciting! I’ve gathered special tips and shortcuts for how to save on travel.
